Bolívar Quilindo - Colombia
Bolívar Quilindo and his family lived in San Antonio, Tolima, where their small plot of land limited their ability to grow more than 1500 trees. Unable to find land to expand locally, they made a crucial decision to migrate to Rio Chuiquito, in Cauca. After an exhaustive search, they found a 6-hectare farm at an affordable price. Although the distance would separate them from their home, the opportunity was too valuable to pass up. Thus, with determination and hope, they packed their belongings and moved to the Risaralda district, ready to embark on a new chapter in their lives. With 1500 trees in production and 4500 in growth, the Quilindo family faced a challenge when they couldn’t afford seeds or seedlings. A kind producer gifted them 500 grams of Chiroso coffee seeds, and with these, the family started their new project, driven by optimism and perseverance, building a prosperous future on their new land.
This coffee was sourced directly by Alex at BMC, on the ground in Antioquia with the Pergamino Coffee and Royal NY. It is very special to us, as our first Single Origin sourced at origin. Clean, bright, and smooth, a classic and comforting washed Colombia with citrusy clementine brightness, peach, marzipan, and milk chocolate sweetness.
