El Sol is a natural lot from Vides Farms in La Libertad, Huehuetenango, grown between 1,350–1,750 masl. For a region famous for its classic, washed coffees, this lot delivers a super uncharacteristic, tropical cup profile. The foundation for this coffee was laid in 1958 by Dr. Jorge Vides. While balancing a demanding career as a full-time physician and Director of the National Hospital of Huehuetenango—which still bears his name today—the farm was his true passion. In 1980, he founded a school right on the farm to support local families, establishing a legacy of community care that continues today under his grandson, Renardo Ovalle.
In 2002, the family fully realized the farm's specialty potential when they placed 2nd nationally in the Cup of Excellence, launching their exceptional coffees onto the global stage.
We taste vibrant notes of watermelon, tart kiwi, raspberry, and sweet milk chocolate.
